Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Disclosure
Pursuant to FINRA and SEC regulation, Seattle-Northwest Securities Corporation ("SNW") has a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in place in preparation for the possibility of disruptions to SNW's normal business operation with severity ranging from minor downtime to regional catastrophes. SNW's recovery time to these disruptions will depend on the type and severity of the event.
SNW duplicates all critical Firm, client, regulatory and financial information on appropriate media, and stores the backed-up information at remote locations. Such information is regularly sent to the off-site storage facilities. Likewise, the established service bureau that SNW uses to process and maintain vital firm and client account information maintains redundant data centers to protect the information that it processes for SNW. From time to time SNW participates in disaster recovery exercises to confirm that such stored information remains accessible to it, and accurate. Among other things, SNW also monitors and regulates its data communication lines and maintains and supervises password policies and procedures to limit access to its data.
SNW's BCP also takes advantage of SNW offices in Seattle, WA and Portland, OR by providing alternate locations from which SNW employees can temporarily perform essential business functions in the event of a Firm or community-wide interruption in business. Procedures are in place to notify employees if an event results in a change in business locations or processes, although a business-wide disruption could temporarily delay the processing of information and requests. Provisions have also been made for clients to continue to be able to contact SNW employees by calling (206) 628-2882 in Seattle, or (503) 275-8300 in Portland. SNW will continue business operations from either recovery facility.
In the event of a regional catastrophic event including, but not limited to a natural disaster, terrorist attack, or other severe failure where SNW can no longer conduct business, SNW Clients are instructed to call (801) 539-1171 for information on how to access their funds.
