Internships
Internships are the best way to join the SNW team when you are trying to build experience. If you are pursuing a university degree, MBA or other advanced degree, you may consider applying for an internship at SNW. Internships vary in length and can be adapted to fit you. Our internship jobs offer real responsibility, excellent training, and the ability to build long-lasting professional connections. We encourage you to explore this opportunity whatever your discipline or major may be, so long as you have an interest in the financial markets and have demonstrated strong academic and professional performance. After completing your orientation, you can depend on any of our experienced analysts or associates to answer questions, help solve problems and show you where to find what you need to get the job done.

Analyst
The analyst position is best suited for those who just graduated from college, university or an advanced degree program with little or no work experience. As a new analyst, you will learn about our businesses, develop important relationships, and build career-enhancing skills. While an education that concentrates on economics is helpful, it is not a rigid requirement. There are a number of fields that can be complimentary to your career at SNW. Your ability, initiative and professionalism are the major factors at play in this position. We will give you the tools you need for career growth, in addition to training and guidance necessary for advancement. You’ll have access to the highest level of management in the firm, allowing you to connect with people who can guide you and help take your career to the next level. You will have exposure to multiple disciplines allowing you to find the career path that is right for you. Because of our size and structure, you may even get client exposure and responsibilities once you have established yourself in this position.

Associate
Associates typically have two to five years of work experience, an advanced degree such as an MBA, or both. You will quickly assume client responsibilities as an associate and you should be able to demonstrate a track record of success and innovation in your prior work experience. Associates at SNW come from a variety of industries, but have education or experience in the financial markets and how business organizations work. As a new associate, you’ll be given the tools and training to develop advanced sector-specific skills, and will work closely with senior-level management. You will be given the opportunity to network with business and community leaders and we will actively help to build your professional network throughout our region. The pathway from associate to a vice president or senior vice president position is a varied one. The speed and direction this path takes depends entirely upon your desire, motivation and unique area of expertise. SNW is eager to develop the next generation of leadership and will help you every step of the way.

Assistant Vice President
An Assistant Vice President has 2 or more years of experience in their field and generally works directly with VPs and SVPs to help develop their careers and earn the title of expert in their field. To achieve this title, you must have participated in securing clients and retaining and maintaining client customer relationships. You must have fully mastered the skills necessary to be an Associate and have effectively represented the company with clients and customers. You must have either a longstanding history with the company or good prospects for such a history. Additionally, it is necessary to show motivation to not only do well in this position, but to be willing to take the initiative to learn and grow enough to become considered an expert in your field while continuing to excel in the firm. This title is awarded only with the approval of the Department Manager and the Board of Directors.

Vice President and Senior Vice President
Our VPs and SVPs are senior specialists and experts in their field. Their backgrounds are varied but all have the common thread of education and experience in the finance industry. This level of responsibility requires intense dedication, unwavering integrity, and advanced creative problem-solving skills. You must be able to accomplish a transaction from inception to completion and have an excellent track record of securing and retaining clients. You must have been solely responsible for many client relationships over a period of years and be able to assume significant management responsibility. Teamwork is not an option at this level. Individual ambition is appreciated, but to be an effective leader at SNW, you must be both willing and able to listen to your supporting team members and recognize that your achievement is directly related to theirs. Understanding of and willingness to foster our unique corporate culture is a must. We will depend on your insight to improve and grow our firm and we can offer you a rewarding and unique experience. A Department Manager may award the title of Senior Vice President to a current VP without Board approval, but the title of Vice President must be approved by both the Department Manager and Board of Directors. If you are interested in contributing to our team on this level, we encourage you to contact us for an informational interview.
